Ford Clutch Replacement Due to Oil Leak - Ford F-350


I have a 2000 F-350 that I replaced the engine in with a warranted, complete engine purchased through Ford. The engine has had alot of problems; with the most recent being a serious engine leak. The Corvallis Oregon Wilson Ford Dealership Service department replaced the front and rear engine seals. The leak, or repair, allowed oil to get on the clutch. I have been working with the Corvallis Ford dealer trying to resolve this issue for over 2 months now. The clutch was recently installed by a non-Ford business. It is a Luk Heavy Duty Clutch. The dealership does not dispute the damage being the fault of the engine or repair tech, but says the problem lays in the fact it isn't a Ford clutch and the fact I expect it to be replaced with the same clutch I had installed and not a Ford stock clutch. Corvallis Ford now state they are not technically responsible because they didn%u2019t install the faulty engine (Ford dealership in Albany Oregon installed it); even though they did the seal replacement work. According to Corvallis Ford, if they can%u2019t get approval from Corporate, I then have to start over and begin the fight with the Albany Dealership since they installed the faulty engine. A week ago the Corvallis Ford Service Department stated it will take 6-8 weeks to get approval from 'Corporate'. This is ridiculous! In today's day and age, NOTHING takes that long!!! I%u2019ve been waiting for 2 months already to resolve this clutch issue!!!!!!!

I called 'Corporate' in Dearborn Michigan ( 800-392-3673 ext. 1, ext. 4, ext.5. Spoke with Shawana) this morning (7/15/2015) and was informed there was nothing they could do to help me. I asked if there is someone higher up I could speak with and I was told I have to deal with the warranty and service managers at the dealership. The other option offered was for me to pay to get it fixed and then get reimbursed if the approval goes through. When I had the clutch installed it cost me just under $1,500. Ford has quoted me $3000 to replace it!!! I%u2019ve been out of work for the past month and I don%u2019t have $3000, not even the $1500 so this is not an option for me!

My truck is my work truck. I have a 53' auto hauler trailer I Ioad up with cargo and transport around the Northwest and Canada. I cannot work with the clutch like it is. It is jerky, causes stalling %u2026 and this is in granny gear!!! Lord only knows what damage it has done to the rest of the truck and my trailer. It is just impossible to drive for work as is. I have not been able to work for over a month now and being self-employed, it is costing me daily - and I can't afford this!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not believe this to be fair treatment. This is costing me my business, causing my bills to pile up and accrue outrageous late fees and so SO much stress. This act by Ford is putting me out of business, damaging my credit and causing me UNNECESSARY stress. At this point, I see the next step is to go after Ford for lost wages, loss of business, stress and damages.
